Duck, Duck, Grey Day! On assignment in Hopkins

Yesterday I was out and about in Hopkins searching for a fun feature for Hopkins Patch.  It seems most folks just weren't getting out of the house.  No sledders, no skaters, just not much happening, except at Nine Mile Creek.  A Hopkins police officer tipped me off about an illegal assembly going on near 7th Ave.  When I arrived I could tell by all the commotion that a large crowd had gathered.  Once out of my car I realized this was big, really big.  According to estimates around three hundred Mallards were partying big time, hot tub and snacks included.  What was a roving photographer to do - join in!  See the results at the Hopkins Patch website, where the "evidence" should be posted Thursday.

D7000 - Fun with high ISOs

It was fun getting a chance to see how the new D7000 handles high ISO settings.  I shot dance at William's Arena at 1,000 and then Saturday I covered wrestling at Hopkins using 1,600.  Both of those worked out really super.  At 16 megapixel, it's a whole new "ballgame".

Happy New Year From J&K Creative!

With the new year starting, it feels like a great time to not only look forward, but to take a look over our shoulder and think about how far we've come.  To me, it feels like J&K Creative! just moved in to our home studio.  Yet, it has actually been over six years.  During that time we have met some of the most wonderful people and we have had the opportunity to visit amazing places around the world.  Photography has made this all possible and we never take that fact for granted.  So as the new year gets off to a fresh start we want to say thank you to all of you!
