Happy New Year! Time To Resolve....

It's New Year's Eve and once again time to take a quick look back and a long look forward. J&K Creative! has had a large dose of challenges, but also many things to be thankful for. # 1 - We're still kicking! In Kathy's case that couldn't be more true. Her courage to go through two total knee replacements is off the charts! #2 - J&K Creative! has survived one of the most challenging years ever in the photo industry. This is true because we have extremely loyal customers! Thank You ALL!
This year we resolve to continue to provide creative works of art in a timely manner at a reasonable price.

Adding a second D200 with vertical grip

We are upgrading our backup camera from a Nikon D100 to a second Nikon D200 with vertical grip. To do this we are selling some equipment that we no longer use. On Ebay you will find a 1.4 teleconverter and a bogen/manfrotto tripod. We are also selling a Tamrac rolling camera bag (model 654) and an Aiptek digital tablet for photo retouching. If you are interested in the bag or tablet they are currently listed under Hennepin County "for sale" on Craigslist.

Sample Custom Album Page

Here is the opening page for a wedding album that I'm working on. This will be an Asuka Book, which is actually printed in Japan and distributed through Kevin Kubota's facility in Bend Oregon. All the files are uploaded via the internet and albums typically take around four to five weeks to arrive. One of the beautiful features of this album is a full-wrap image cover option. We pride ourselves on custom design for every aspect of our album projects. We never use templates like so many photographers these days.

Andy In The Studio

Just for fun I used a large print from a photo session I did years ago as a backdrop for our latest senior, Andy. It was just one of those impulsive ideas that come to me in the studio now and then.

Photographer, Not Terrorist

There is a campaign in the UK to educate people about their rights to make photographs. Worldwide, the issue of balancing photographer's rights and homeland security is a growing problem.

Antique Dress Location Shot

Yesterday I worked with Morgan, a wonderful new model. The project involved photographing an antique wedding dress. Luckily, I'm off the hook for it since I returned it unharmed! In this shot I was going for a "CSI Miami", oversaturated tropical look.

Nikon D300s ?

It looks like maybe it has paid off to wait for upgrading my primary camera. Rumor has it that Nikon may be coming out with a new version of the D300. The camera is expected to feature video capability, as well as a slot for SD card.
A screen shot from Nikon's website would seem to indicate the validity of the rumor:
